Voices and instruments spread out naturally, so you hear the room as well as the performance, yet notes still land with weight and definition. Active loading keeps distortion low, letting fine textures and decays come through cleanly without ever sounding forward or fatiguing.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n  \u003ch3\u003eThe Circuit\u003c\/h3\u003e\n  \u003cp\u003eAn Aegis tube-rectified power supply feeds a gyrator-loaded 6SN7 input stage, directly coupled to an actively loaded power pentode output with no coupling capacitor in between. A DC heater supply keeps the input stage quiet, and time-delayed startup protects the tubes every time you power on.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n  \u003ch3\u003eTune It to Your Headphones\u003c\/h3\u003e\n  \u003cp\u003eA three-position feedback switch shapes the sound from punchy to smooth. Off gives the most dynamics at 73Ω output impedance, Moderate balances drive and refinement at 38Ω, and High gives the smoothest, lowest-distortion sound at 21Ω with a firmer grip on lower-impedance headphones.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n  \u003ch3\u003eRoll Your Own Sound\u003c\/h3\u003e\n  \u003cp\u003eAirmid accepts a wide range of tubes. Rectifier: GZ34, 5R4, 5U4, GZ37, 274B and many more. Input: 6SN7, or 12AU7 and 6J5 with adapters.
