PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Mefisto, the second opus from Forté Ears, draws inspiration from C. Gounod's Faust and A. Boito's Mefistofele. In these operas, Mefisto's commanding voice symbolizes both temptation and enchantment. This IEM captures that essence, delivering a sound that is both seductive and mesmerizing.
At its core is an in-house developed nano-diaphragm planar tweeter, “ARIA™”.
This specially designed and meticulously tuned driver boasts high efficiency and exceptional fidelity, enriching the whole overtone series with an irresistibly alluring timbre. Complementing it are customized dual 7.8mm Liquid Crystal Polymer (LCP) dynamic drivers, housed within our Diabolic Isolation System (D.I.S.), a Forté Ears exclusive structural design crafted to maximize bass energy output with unmatched precision and efficiency.
The IEM features a unique blend of advanced components, including a vintage copper inductor coil, Dual Bone Conduction Drivers, and Forté's proprietary "Diablo" driver, designed for powerful, deep bass that adds richness to the lower frequencies. To enhance the natural sound further, the Acoustic Resonance Chamber (ARC) technology amplifies harmonic vibrations, resulting in an organic and immersive auditory experience.
Drivers Configuration
For Mefisto, we selected our in-house developed Nano Diaphragm Planar Magnetic Driver – "ARIA™" as the tweeter. With its exceptional efficiency and distinctive tonal character, Aria elevates the overtone series structure, infusing vocals with unparalleled richness and emotional depth, making them more vivid, expressive, and enchanting.
While Macbeth pursues a balanced and refined presentation, Mefisto takes a bold and dramatic approach, delivering deep, resonant, and unforgettable low frequencies. To achieve this, we incorporated dual LCP dynamic drivers in a horizontally opposed configuration, working in perfect synergy with meticulously tuned midrange Balanced Armature drivers. This setup extends across an impressive 12Hz to 35kHz frequency range, producing a warm, full-bodied sound with thunderous, yet controlled bass, offering an entirely different sonic experience from Macbeth.
“D.I.S” - Diabolic Isolation System
To harness the full potential of Mefisto’s bass performance, we developed the Diabolic Isolation System—a meticulously engineered structure designed to optimize and intensify low-frequency reproduction.
At its core, a custom-engineered bracket securely houses the dual LCP dynamic drivers in a horizontally opposed format, ensuring precise driver alignment and controlled movement. This configuration is further enhanced by a sealed chamber, forming a bass pressurization system that maximizes bass energy, prevents sound leakage, and guarantees that every low-frequency note is delivered with full force and impact.
Together, this system allows the dual LCP dynamic coils to produce deep, wide, and dense bass, with rich texture and powerful sub-bass extension—creating an immersive, thunderous low-end presence that sets Mefisto apart.
ARIA™
Developed exclusively for Mefisto, the “ARIA™” is a custom-engineered nano diaphragm Planar Magnetic tweeter, meticulously designed to deliver exceptional efficiency, high density, and unparalleled transparency.
Personally tuned by Riccardo, “ARIA™” is crafted to perfectly align with Mefisto’s sonic vision. Its influence extends across the entire overtone series, enriching vocals with a captivating magnetic depth and husky texture—bringing both male and female voices to life with remarkable richness and allure.
However, integrating “ARIA™” posed a significant challenge. To ensure seamless, natural performance, it had to be carefully incorporated into Forte Circuitry Relay (FCR), with precise tuning tailored specifically to this driver. Through this intricate design, “ARIA™” effortlessly merges with the mid-frequency BA driver array, forming a cohesive, fluid extension of the soundscape—delivering harmonious, lifelike reproduction with breathtaking realism.
Forte Circuitry Relay System
The "Mefisto" IEM is engineered with a fully bespoke FCR system, empowering us to master every electrical signal and relay with unmatched precision. This thorough customization enables us to fine-tune even the most intricate aspects of the system, overcoming inherent complexities to achieve uncompromising performance.
At the heart of the "Mefisto" is a highly refined 4-way crossover system, seamlessly woven into the FCR. This sophisticated setup ensures that each driver performs within its optimal frequency range, eliminating any overlap and redundancy. By treating the entire driver configuration as a unified ecosystem, the FCR meticulously calibrates circuits and arranges components to either enhance or temper each driver’s output. This holistic approach guarantees that every driver within the "Mefisto" fulfills a specific role, contributing harmoniously to the overall sound signature.
One of the most distinctive features of the "Mefisto" FCR system is the inclusion of a vintage Japanese inductor, now discontinued and highly coveted. Paired with dual LCP dynamic drivers, this rare component delivers a richer, more layered bass experience, extending effortlessly into sub-bass depths while maintaining speed, precision, and musicality.

The "Mefisto" IEM is distinguished by its groundbreaking Acoustic Resonance Chamber (ARC), an innovative feature that redefines acoustic performance and sets a new benchmark for sonic excellence.
