I'll admit that I bought this set mainly because of the huge discount and I didn't really know what to expect from it, but I've got to say it's been quite a pleasant surprise, it manages to be neutral yet fun and engaging at the same time, with tight bass that's not exaggerated and very impressive technicalities for a single DD set, the mids can at times sound a little bit recessed depending on the track as this is a fairly unforgiving IEM when it comes to music with sub par production but other than that it's an absolute gem and the best single DD IEM I've heard, I wouldn't recommend it at MSRP but at this price I think it's an absolute bargain.
HiFiMan Re 2000 pro silver
First thing U need replacment cable and tips stright away . I recommend Tangzu Sancai Wide Bore as it open soundstage and making bass nice and tight . R2R dac is great match for those headphones and any chord dacs drive them easlly , I have Mojo and Musician Pegasus R2R and booth brilliant , for gaming pegasus wins hands down but for music mojo pump nice bass and dynamics . For 150 quid no brainer + 40 quid cable and tips . Price is a bargian right now . I have Hifiman edition XS and they are very close
These sound fantastic. The tuning and fit are right up my alley. Zero complaints with how they sound and fit once you pair them with the right tips. The stock tips are all not good and the stock cable is meh so I paired these with a Dunu Lyre Mini and some NiceHCK balanced tips and there beautiful.
My only minor complaint is kind of what I feared reading about HifiMan's questionable quality control. On the right side unit, there's a kind of ugly bead of excess glue where the nozzle connects to the body. Having gotten these at the price they are at now I suppose that some would think that I'm being too critical, but anyway, it's just something that shouldn't really be an issue on what they market as a high end product.
In the end, I know I need to put this aside and accept that things aren't always perfect. They do sound phenomenal and I would recommend them for sure.
