Like metamorphic rock transformed from igneous origins, the serpentine, layered pattern of the mokume gane inspired faceplates marks a new aesthetic direction for DUNU. Ergonomically shaped for a wide variety of ear shapes and sizes, VULKAN’s aluminum alloy shells are precision-machined for a perfect fit.

Advanced Six-driver Hybrid Configuration

Over the years, DUNU has got expertise in designing high-quality hybrid configurations for in-ear monitors. For the latest Vulkan, they have designed an arrangement consisting of an 8 mm Structural Foam Cell Dome with Soft Independent Surround dynamic driver, an 8 mm Nanocrystalline Titanium-Coated Diaphragm dynamic driver with four high-performance Balanced armature drivers from Knowles. These drivers are professionally tuned and arranged in such a manner to reduce the Harmonic Distortion in the output signal, allowing the driver to behave like a natural woofer, with deep bass reproduction and dynamics, reproduce lower midrange frequencies with stellar linearity and quality transient response and a smooth, detailed ultra-high frequency response.

VULKAN embodies power and authority, inside and out. By leveraging the latest virtual and digital tools in our design process, VULKAN is one of the most finely iterated products to be released even before a physical build. Every component has been optimized in software to maximize performance, from the dual coaxially-aligned 8 mm dynamic drivers to the Knowles drivers phase-match with a 3D-printed waveguide inside.

Colored with precision, VULKAN has a crowd pleaser of a sound signature, imaged for a larger-than-life presentation, a lush, full midrange and a high end with just the right amount of sparkle.
